In 2015, the Barnett government committed $20.8 million to build twin skywalks and seal roads within the Kalbarri National Park to boost tourism in the region.
The two 100m high skywalks, with a connecting boardwalk, will jut out 25m and 17m beyond the rim of the Murchison River Gorge, providing visitors with spectacular views of the surrounding environment.
Kalbarri National Park is located almost 500km north of Perth. The whole project has been designed to fit into the natural environment with minimal impact to the picturesque surrounding.
We utilised our specialist small access Comacchio MC-4D drilling rig which is perfectly suited to sites with difficult access and has a very small footprint.
We completed the design and construction of passive and active ground retention systems and stressing/load testing of the active permanent ground anchors.
